“We believe they are involved in this case and investigations are ongoing,” he told reporters after officiating the 2026 Taman Angkat Amanita programme at the Laksamana People’s Housing Project (PPR), Jalan Peel, here today.
He said police received a report from an Alam Flora worker who found the baby’s body.
The baby’s body measured 28 centimetres and was estimated to be about seven months old.
Police are investigating the case under Section 318 of the Penal Code.
In a separate matter, Fadil said that the department has recorded statements from four individuals in a probe into a podcast featuring a former journalist sharing experiences related to drug issues.
Fadil said the department would call in the podcast organiser soon before referring the investigation paper to the prosecution.
He added that sharing such experiences must be done responsibly so as not to mislead the public or cause distress.
The case is being investigated under Section 505 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
