A security warning about PHP has prompted crypto leaders to speak up. On October 22, 2026, BNB Chain and Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) each responded to the news, and every message pointed to the same thing: clear communication matters when users are worried about their funds.
What Triggered the Reaction
The alert came from NSA Cyber, which published a notice to organizations that use PHP in their systems. It told them to prepare for an update that fixes critical vulnerabilities. PHP is a very common programming language for web applications, so the warning affects a large part of the internet.

The agency explained that flaws like these often give attackers a direct path to a server's file system. That kind of access can be dangerous for any website or service that runs on the affected code.

Nina Rong, a BNB Chain representative, published a short statement saying that BNB Chain does not use PHP in its tech stack. She ended the message with a request for people to stay safe. The post drew more than 47,000 views within hours.
The message was brief, but it answered the main question users had: is the network exposed to this issue? According to the team, it is not.
PancakeSwap Sets an Example
PancakeSwap, one of the biggest decentralized exchanges on BNB Chain, had already shared its own confirmation a few hours earlier. The team said it does not use PHP anywhere in its tech stack and that its platform is not affected. It also told users that their funds are safe.
CZ Calls for More Projects to Do the Same
CZ shared the PancakeSwap post and added his own view. He wrote that most projects should at least publish a confirmation like this one. His comment suggests that a short, direct statement is the minimum a project owes its users during a security scare.
Most projects should at least post a confirmation like this.

His point is simple. When a warning from a major government agency spreads, silence can create fear and rumors. A quick confirmation from a project takes only minutes to write, yet it can calm many users.
Crypto platforms hold real money, and users often react quickly to any hint of risk. Many websites, wallets, and dashboards across the industry may still use PHP somewhere in their systems, even if the main blockchain code does not.
Users should watch for official updates from the projects they use. They should also be careful with fake messages that claim to be security fixes, since scammers often use news like this to trick people.
