Maycee Barber returns at UFC 335 in her first fight since being on the wrong end of one of the year’s most brutal finishes.
The UFC announced Wednesday that Barber (15-3) is set to fight the streaking Carli Judice (7-2) in a flyweight bout at UFC 335, which takes place T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Dec. 12 and is headlined by a “BMF” lightweight championship bout between Charles Oliveira and Diego Lopes.
When Barber was last seen in the cage, she was left out cold by a vicious Alexa Grasso knockout punch combined with a subsequent choke attempt. The loss was a disappointing one for Barber, who was on the cusp of a title shot after stringing together seven straight wins prior to her run-in with the former UFC champion. She currently stands at No. 8 in her division in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings.
Judice is currently one of the hottest names at 125 pounds, riding four straight victories including knockouts over Jeisla Chaves, Nicolle Caliari, and Yuneisy Duben. “Crispy” earned a UFC contract in 2023 from Dana White’s Contender Series, despite losing a narrow split decision to Ernesta Kareckaite on the show.
A light heavyweight bout between recent DWCS signing Quentin Pasley (4-0) and Junior Tafa (7-6) has also been added to the Dec. 12 event.
