KUALA LUMPUR: Only individuals or companies registered as "Registered Intermediaries" will be allowed to conduct transactions on behalf of customers at Road Transport Department (RTD) offices and branches from Jan 1.
RTD director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli said online registration for intermediaries would open on Nov 1.
"Approved applicants will be given a digital official identification valid for two years," he said in a Facebook post.
He clarified that the department had no business ties or formal relationship with any registered intermediary and would not be responsible for any losses or disputes arising from private dealings with them.
The public is encouraged to transact directly through the MyJPJ app, the RTD's public online portal or its official counters to ensure safer, more transparnt and secure dealings.
