Enzo Maresca has provided an injury update on several Manchester City players following their 3-2 win over Ipswich.
Mateo Kovacic, Matheus Nunes and Erling Haaland all indicated they were fine after the game, while Nico O’Reilly is still dealing with the same back problem that affected him during the warm-up against Coventry.
“I asked all of them,” Maresca said.
“Mateo Kovacic said he was okay, Matheus said he was okay, Erling also said he was okay, and Nico, if you remember, in the Coventry warm-up he had a problem with his back, it’s still the same problem.”
Maresca added that Antoine Semenyo is the one player City are still waiting to assess further, however.
“The only one where we need to wait a little bit is Antoine,” he said.
“And we’ll see.”
The win over Ipswich thanks to a Haaland double following Phil Foden’s opener means City have won seven league games in a row to start the season.
And Maresca praised the way his players have handled the pressure that has come with the club being found guilty of financial rule breaches.
“I think the players need to be worried about people inside the club and about me, for the credit I give to them, and they are not worried about people that judge them from outside,” he said.
“They know people that are judging them from outside, they are working, they need to say something, they need to create some problem, but inside I promise you the players are happy, the club gives credit to the players, I give credit to the players, so this is, for us, the most important thing.”
