Huawei launched the Mate X7 in November of last year, and according to a new rumor from China, its successor, the Mate X8, is scheduled to become official next month.
It will allegedly sport a 6.5-inch cover display, an 8.15-inch inner folding screen, a 50MP main camera using a 1/1.28" type sensor with variable aperture, a 50MP periscope telephoto camera, and a battery with a capacity of at least 6,000 mAh.

The phone will reportedly be powered by the Kirin 9050 and Kirin 9050 Pro chipsets, with different versions of the phone getting one or the other. There will be a version featuring a Privacy Display feature akin to the one that debuted on the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra earlier this year. That said, it's unclear if this will work on both of the Mate X8's displays or just one of them.
So, compared to the Mate X7, the Mate X8 will have slightly larger screens, a newer SoC, a bigger battery, and that Privacy Display. At least that's what we can gather from these leaked specs, more changes might be in store. Stay tuned and we'll let you know when we find out more.
