RogueX3 Wins Red Dot Design Award

Doosan Bobcat’s concept loader “RogueX3” won in the Red Dot Award’s Design Concept category. Doosan Bobcat announced on Oct. 19 that RogueX3 won a Red Dot Award in the “Design Concept” category, one of the world’s three major design awards. It marks the second achievement for the RogueX platform, following RogueX2 last year. RogueX3 is a fully electric loader that uses electricity for all drive functions and produces no exhaust emissions at all. Equipped with high-precision positioning information, navigation, sensors, and cameras, it carries out precise unmanned operations and remote control. In particular, it is the first in the RogueX platform to adopt a modular design that allows the wheel type, presence or absence of a cab, and power unit to be changed according to the work environment. Its body structure has completely broken away from the framework of conventional compact loaders. Unlike standard models that operate attachments with a front hydraulic system, RogueX3 places the electric drive system at the rear of the body. This design change resulted in a wider forward field of view and a simplified structure. The number of parts was reduced to less than half that of existing models, while energy efficiency and ease of maintenance were significantly improved. Its design for securing stability also stands out. It adopted a method of integrating the battery with the body frame to lower the center of gravity. Doosan Bobcat said the judging panel responded positively to the way the equipment structure was optimized for electric and unmanned work in line with changes at construction sites, where labor shortages and environmental demands are intensifying. A Doosan Bobcat official said the award “once again recognized the innovation of RogueX, which goes beyond the limits of conventional industrial design and responds to diverse work environments with a single piece of equipment.” RogueX3 is a concept model first unveiled in January this year at CES 2026, the world’s largest consumer electronics and IT exhibition. Doosan Bobcat said it plans to actively apply the technologies and design methods secured during the development of the RogueX series to future actual product development processes.
