Coach Matt LaFleur’s Green Bay Packers are 4-2 on the season heading into Week 7’s pivotal game against Detroit, ahead of which linebacker Zaire Franklin sent a warning. Love spoke about what the Packers must do to reach their potential, which may include a bigger role for star WR Matthew Golden.
Golden revealed what he told his quarterback during the team’s 23-13 win over the Cowboys, according to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, and it could lead to exciting times on offense.
“Just keep trusting me. Just keep coming to me,” Golden told his QB.

Love responded.
“That’s what you love. You love to see that confidence, that resiliency. That’s what I tell these guys all the time. Don’t hang your head after a bad play. Just expect the ball to keep coming your way and make that next play.”
Golden led the Packers in receiving as the resourceful Love found him, Christian Watson, and running back Pierre Strong Sr. for big plays on a big night against the Cowboys. Tucker Kraft also joined in the fun, but suffered a worrisome injury on a night when LaFleur lamented missed opportunities.
The Love and Golden connection is forging itself together in new and exciting ways heading into Week 7’s showdown with a Detroit Lions team that has shown it’s vulnerable to the pass, but also brings a strong pass rush. The potential return of star Lions safety Brian Branch could complicate matters, but Golden and Love’s confidence is high enough that it doesn’t seem to matter who lines up across from them anymore, as long as they get enough time to work their magic down the field as they did on Sunday night.
