The Mova LumeGret S5000 residential energy storage system combines solar power management, expandable battery storage, and electric vehicle charging. The system supports up to 4.8 kW of solar input and can be paired with a 7 kW EV charger.
Chinese storage sytem provider Mova has introduced the LumeGret S5000, a residential energy storage system designed to integrate rooftop solar generation, battery storage, household electricity consumption, and electric vehicle charging.
The system features an integrated inverter with four maximum power point trackers (MPPTs), supporting a combined solar input of up to 4.8 kW. The PV input operates across a voltage range of 13 V to 48 V, with a maximum input voltage of 60 V and a startup voltage of 15 V.
The S5000 can be combined with Mova’s LumeGret B3000G and B5000G lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery modules, which offer storage capacities of 3 kWh and 5 kWh, respectively. According to the manufacturer’s specifications, the systems can be expanded to 15 kWh and 25 kWh.
The battery modules are rated for at least 10,000 cycles under specified test conditions and feature self-heating and aerosol fire-extinguishing functions. Mova specifies an operating temperature range of -20 C to 55 C, IP65 protection, a 10-year warranty, and a design lifespan of 20 years.
The S5000 supports grid-connected AC output of 800 W by default, with a maximum configurable output of 3 kW. It also provides up to 3 kW of off-grid output, with a bypass rating of 3.6 kW.
For electric vehicle owners, the system can be paired with Mova’s optional LumeGret E7000 charger, which supports charging at up to 7 kW when sufficient power is available. The manufacturer specifies an EV charging output of up to 3 kW in off-grid operation and a bypass capacity of up to 6.6 kW in grid-connected operation.
EV charging can be managed through the Movahome app, which allows users to configure charging schedules, power levels, and energy priorities. The system offers manual and automated charging modes.
In smart charging mode, the S5000 uses electricity price information, solar generation, and available surplus PV power to optimize charging schedules. Mova says the system can access electricity pricing information from approximately 860 electricity providers.
Users can configure price thresholds to pause charging during periods of high electricity prices or prioritize charging when grid electricity becomes cheaper. The system also supports charging during periods of negative electricity prices.
A solar-surplus charging function can automatically initiate EV charging when excess PV generation exceeds 500 W, according to the company.
The S5000 measures 480 mm × 290 mm × 168.4 mm and weighs 14.8 kg. It uses natural cooling and supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and RS485 communication. Optional accessories include smart meters, EV chargers, and smart plugs.
Mova has not disclosed pricing or commercial availability details in the supplied product information.
