The Colorado Avalanche have a week’s worth of scheduled advantages ahead of them, starting tonight. Connor Hellebuyck is practicing with the New Jersey Devils and could make his debut as early as next week. Will it come against the Avalanche? Also, the Boston Bruins won again and remained among the top teams in the NHL.
All that and more on this edition of Deen’s Daily — October 25.
Colorado Hockey Now
Connor Hellebuyck is out of the Central Division after being shipped to the New Jersey Devils from Winnipeg on Friday. Like Jared Bednar said after a game later that night, he’s not complaining about the superstar goalie going to the Eastern Conference.
However, Elliotte Friedman reported on Sportsnet’s Saturday Headlines segment that Hellebuyck is hoping to make his debut far sooner than everyone expects. The Devils play in Dallas on Tuesday and in Colorado on Wednesday. Friedman said Hellebuyck is going to try to play one of those games.
So yes, Hellebuyck is no longer in the Central Division, but his debut with the Devils could very well come against the Colorado Avalanche at Ball Arena.
Avalanche's next three games are against teams on the second of a back-to-back.
