Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has missed each of his team's last two games since suffering an ankle injury in Week 4, leading some fans and analysts to criticize him over his lack of availability.
When speaking with reporters on Thursday, veteran cornerback Marlon Humphrey pushed back against this "slander" of his quarterback.
"It seems like Lamar's the only quarterback kind of gets the slander that he gets for anytime anything is going on," Humphrey said, via team insider Jamison Hensley of ESPN. "I feel like you just don't see these same articles. I'm in the hot tub and it's this, that and the third. Unfair treatment.
"I just feel like sometimes it seems like it gets away from... I don't know if it's because of lack of agent or what, that no one can kind of defend him. But I do know this, if Lamar Jackson can play, if he's healthy enough to play, he will play and that's kind of all I can say for that."
Jackson was limited in practice on Wednesday and spotted on the practice field again for Thursday's session. Following a Week 6 loss to the division-rival Cleveland Browns this past Sunday, the Ravens are looking to bounce back in another AFC North matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals this weekend.
