The Eagles running back depth is already thin, to but it lightly, but things appeared to get worse in the first quarter on Sunday against the Panthers. Carson Steele nabbed a short pass by Tanner McKee, was pushed out of bounds, and was injured on the play. After a short evaluation in the medical tent, Steele headed to the locker room, and was later ruled questionable to return due to a shoulder injury.

Steele was signed to the active roster just over a week ago, and played in London against the Jaguars, although all of his snaps came on special teams. The RB was getting some offensive opportunities early in Week 6 against the Panthers, and was targeted twice, but hauled in one catch for four yards — the play on which he was injured.
The Eagles running back run is already without Saquon Barkley due to injury, and both Tank Bigsby and Will Shipley were put on IR, leaving Dameon Pierce as the starting RB, Steele, and then Jaydon Blue, as the only other active rushers. With Steele sidelined, Pierce and Blue will be the guys running the ball — which is a duo no one predicted before the season.
