5 budget air purifiers for your bedroom under Rs 5000

Air purifiers don’t necessarily have to cost Rs 10,000 or more. If you want one for a small bedroom, study or home office, there are a few budget options worth considering. The trick is to look beyond the price tag and check how much air a purifier can clean, the type of filter it uses and how much replacement filters will cost.

For a room of around 150–200 sq. ft., a purifier with a suitable clean air delivery rate (CADR) can be a practical starting point. However, coverage figures mentioned by manufacturers are not always directly comparable, and a model that works for a small bedroom may struggle to keep pollution levels down during Delhi-NCR’s winter smog.

Here are five air purifiers from our shortlist that are worth looking at if your budget is around Rs 5,000.

Honeywell Air Touch V1

The Honeywell Air Touch V1 is rated for rooms up to 235 sq. ft. and has a CADR of 152 m³/h. It uses a pre-filter to trap larger particles, an H13 HEPA filter to capture finer airborne pollutants, and an activated carbon filter to deal with household odours. This setup makes it a reasonable fit for a small bedroom or study, particularly in homes where dust is a regular problem.

The purifier keeps things fairly simple, focusing on filtration rather than a long list of smart features. Its rated coverage should be enough for a compact room, though how quickly it cleans the air will depend on the room size and fan speed.

Eureka Forbes 150

The Eureka Forbes AP 150 has a CADR of 150 m³/h and is designed for rooms of around 200 sq. ft. Its 360-degree air intake pulls air in from all sides, which gives you more flexibility when deciding where to place it. The purifier uses a multi-stage filtration system to remove airborne particles from the air passing through it.

It’s sized for spaces such as bedrooms and smaller living rooms, where a bulky purifier may be difficult to accommodate. Leave some space around the unit rather than pushing it into a tight corner, so air can flow freely through the intake.

Motorola AirShield 150

The Motorola AirShield 150 is designed for smaller rooms, with a claimed CADR of 150 m³/h and coverage of up to 190 sq. ft. Its HEPA-based filtration system captures airborne particles as air passes through the filter. The purifier’s stated airflow capacity makes it comparable to other entry-level models intended for compact rooms.

It can be considered for bedrooms, study areas and small home offices where a dedicated air-cleaning appliance is required. Its primary function is to reduce airborne particle concentrations by continuously drawing in room air and passing it through the filtration system.

LEVOIT Core Mini

The LEVOIT Core Mini features a compact design and a three-stage filtration system comprising a pre-filter, a particle filter and activated carbon. The pre-filter captures larger particles, while the other filtration layers target finer particles and help reduce odours.

Its reported CADR is approximately 57.77 m³/h, which is considerably lower than that of the other models on this list. This makes it better suited to very small spaces, such as a personal workspace or compact study area, rather than a larger bedroom. Its smaller form factor also makes it easier to place on a desk or beside a bed without occupying much floor space.

Wozoyo Pure Air PA1

The Wozoyo Pure Air PA1 features a four-stage filtration system comprising a pre-filter, an antibacterial layer, an H13 HEPA filter and an activated carbon filter. It has a CADR of 110 m³/h and a claimed coverage area of 202 sq. ft. at two air changes per hour. The HEPA filter captures fine airborne particles, including dust and pollen, while the activated carbon layer helps absorb odours.

The purifier offers three fan-speed settings, a child lock and a timer with two-, four- and eight-hour options. It also features a soft night light and an aromatherapy compartment for essential oils. The manufacturer claims noise levels as low as 22dB on the lowest setting and rates the filter for up to 9,000 hours of use or one year, whichever comes first.
