KARACHI – Pakistani government raised petrol price to Rs382.02 per litre for Wednesday, October 21, 2026. The latest increase of Re0.88 per litre has pushed petrol back above Rs382, while high-speed diesel (HSD) has also become more expensive, rising by Re0.53 to Rs389.80 per litre.
The reversal comes just a day after the government announced a significant reduction in fuel prices, offering motorists temporary relief from mounting transportation and commuting costs.
A day before, petrol prices were slashed by Rs5.16 per litre to Rs381.14, while diesel rates dropped by Rs7.69 to Rs389.27. However, the latest adjustment has already eaten into part of those savings, leaving consumers facing another increase at fuel stations.
The latest hike follows a series of fluctuating fuel prices throughout October, with successive reductions bringing rates down from levels approaching Rs400 per litre.
Petrol Price Trends 2026
Petrol was priced at Rs393.86 per litre around October 15. The rate subsequently fell to Rs390.23 on October 16 after a reduction of Rs3.63. Fuel prices were reduced again by Rs3.93 to Rs386.30 per litre for October 17–19, before another cut of Rs5.16 brought the rate down to Rs381.14 on October 20.
That relief proved short-lived, as the latest revision lifted petrol to Rs382.02 per litre on October 21. Diesel prices have also moved sharply during the month. After hovering around Rs396–397 per litre in mid-October, HSD dropped to Rs389.27 on October 20 before edging up to Rs389.80 under the latest adjustment.
International oil prices eased from a five-month high during volatile trading on Tuesday as traders assessed mounting security concerns in the Middle East.
