ISLAMABAD: Senator Sherry Rehman on Thursday said that no politician wants proclamation of emergency, the PTI has lost a golden chance of a wayout from the blind alley.
Participating in debate over the Article 232 and 234 in the Parliament’s joint sitting, People’s Party’s Senator said that “Your provincial leadership has removed place beneath your feet”.
“Assad Qaiser, Amir Doggar, all were of the view to fight against the terrorism,” Sherry Rehman said. “The provincial leadership played political game, thinking to become political martyrs,” PPP senator said.
“A prepared draft was sent to the prime minister four times with amendments,” senator Rehman said.
Clarifying the PPP’s position Sherry Rehman said that “If someone thinks that the People’s Party has been agreed over some extra-constitutional measure, is wrong, we are makers of constitution and value it”.
