Oregon’s receiving corps could be without its leading target when the Ducks host Nebraska on Saturday, as wide receiver Evan Stewart has been downgraded to doubtful on Thursday’s Big Ten availability report. The fifth-year receiver was initially listed as questionable on Wednesday, making his status a growing concern ahead of the conference matchup.
Stewart has been one of Oregon’s most productive offensive players this season, recording 27 receptions for 352 yards and four touchdowns across five games. He has scored in each of his last four appearances, including last Saturday’s 17-15 defeat against UCLA, when he caught five passes for 74 yards and a 44-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.
His potential absence would create another problem for an offense already dealing with personnel issues. Starting quarterback Dante Moore remains out while recovering from a concussion, while starting receiver Jeremiah McClellan has missed three games because of a broken foot and is also listed as unavailable for the upcoming matchup.

McClellan’s absence has given freshman Messiah Hampton a starting role. Hampton has 17 receptions this season and ranks third on the team in catches. Freshman Jalen Lott and backup tight end Andrew Olesh could see additional opportunities if Stewart cannot play. Lott caught one pass for six yards versus the Bruins, Hampton finished with three catches for 14 yards in that game, and Olesh did not log a reception.
Dakorien Moore leads the Ducks’ other receiving options with 18 catches for 311 yards and four touchdowns. Jamari Johnson has added 12 receptions for 189 yards and one score.
Oregon must also resolve its quarterback situation. Dylan Raiola started against UCLA but was replaced by Brock Thomas in the fourth quarter after a subpar performance. With Moore unavailable, the two backups are competing for the starting assignment versus the Cornhuskers.
The Ducks’ latest injury report also lists safety Aaron Flowers and offensive lineman Trent Ferguson as out, alongside running back Simeon Price, linebacker Brayden Platt and receiver Jeremiah McClellan. Offensive lineman Dave Iuli is listed as probable.
Oregon enters Saturday’s contest with a 3-2 overall record and a 1-1 mark in Big Ten play, while Nebraska is 5-1 overall and 2-1 in conference action. Kickoff is scheduled for 11 p.m. EST at Autzen Stadium in Eugene.
