Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab visited the under-construction Natha Khan Link Road and reviewed the ongoing development work, announcing that the road would be opened to the public soon. He said that the completion of Natha Khan Link Road would connect Shahrah-e-Faisal with Gulistan-e-Johar, improve traffic flow across the city, and help reduce congestion on major roads. Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that Karachi needed more such link roads, and the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) was working on their construction.
He added that providing better commuting facilities to citizens and reducing traffic problems were among the city’s key priorities. The objective of these development projects was to facilitate daily travel and address the city’s fundamental civic issues. The Mayor Karachi said that the development initiatives being undertaken by KMC reflected the genuine priorities of the people. Unlike the past, when greater emphasis was placed solely on the construction of flyovers, the current approach also focused on improving traffic flow through roads and link roads. He said that KMC was undertaking projects in line with the city’s needs that would directly benefit citizens and improve Karachi’s traffic system.
Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab further stated that KMC was taking practical measures to reconstruct roads and improve commuting facilities in different parts of the city. He also visited the under-construction Chakor Nala Expressway and reviewed the progress of the project. He said that the project would greatly benefit commuters travelling towards Gulistan-e-Johar, Johar More, Rashid Minhas Road, and Airport Road, providing them with improved transportation facilities.
He said that, alongside improving the city’s roads, KMC was also focusing on resolving fundamental civic issues. Reconstruction work on Chand Bibi Road near Civil Hospital had commenced after addressing the sewerage and drainage problems in the area. He explained that resolving these issues before reconstructing the road would help ensure the project’s durability and prevent residents from facing the same problems again.
The Mayor Karachi said that there was also good news for the residents of Pehalwan Goth and commuters travelling through the area, as KMC was undertaking development work to improve road conditions and facilitate transportation. Similarly, reconstruction of the internal streets of Block 6, PECHS, in Chanesar Town was underway to provide residents with better roads and improved access.
Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab further said that the KMC team was also working to improve the area around Guru Mandir and Meeruth Kebab House. He stated that road construction, rehabilitation, and improvements in basic civic facilities across different parts of Karachi were aimed at providing relief to citizens. He added that the development of Karachi and the resolution of public problems remained among KMC’s foremost priorities, and under the leadership of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), efforts to serve the people would continue.
