Boeing $BA stock has no sell ratings from analysts tracked by Bloomberg, and the share recommending a buy is the highest since 2022, according to Bloomberg.
In a note to clients this week, Bank of America $BAC analyst Ronald Epstein said, "We haven't been this bullish on Boeing in a very long time," according to Bloomberg. He added that "the key risk for Boeing investors remains trust and disclosure concerns." Epstein said the run of negative headlines this year has created an attractive entry point for investors.
Epstein reiterated a Buy rating and a $270 price target earlier this week, according to Benzinga.
Last week, an FAA review panel concluded that the software issue affecting the 737 Max presented no safety threat, according to Bloomberg. Epstein argued that with the FAA issuing its clearance and the threat of a white-collar union walkout no longer looming, the stock is now "materially derisked."
Epstein also pointed to Boeing's wins of the Air Force's F-47 fighter program and the Navy's F/A-XX fighter program. He said the two programs combined could be worth more than $200 billion, according to Benzinga. He said the stock should deliver above-market returns between now and 2027 as the programs advance.
After surging 16% to open 2026, Boeing stock has given back those gains and more, sliding 26% below the peak it reached in late January. At roughly 71 times forward earnings, Boeing carries a higher valuation multiple than any other company in the Dow Jones Industrial Average, according to Bloomberg.
Other analysts cited by Bloomberg pointed to continuing challenges. Jefferies analyst Sheila Kahyaoglu said, "Oil above $100 isn't helpful for aircraft order or aftermarket revenues." Bloomberg Intelligence analyst George Ferguson said, "The story about Boeing right now is definitely a turnaround story and it's about 737 deliveries."
Boeing declined to comment, citing the quiet period before its third-quarter earnings report on Oct. 27, according to Bloomberg.
