Youths supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State have pledged to mobilise more than two million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Umar Namadi in the 2027 general elections.
The pledge was made on Wednesday during a solidarity march through major streets of Dutse, the state capital, as participants declared support for the re-election bids of the two leaders.

Organised under the One Million-Man March movement, the rally was the third and final phase of a mobilisation campaign that began in Hadejia on September 22 and continued in Gumel on October 7.
Addressing participants, the movement’s chairman, Salihu Atafi, said the Tinubu administration had recorded progress in several sectors in less than three years.
He cited efforts to stabilise the academic calendar of public universities, improve infrastructure, empower young people and strengthen security as reasons the President deserved a second term.
Atafi urged the youths to sustain their mobilisation and work towards delivering the promised votes for the APC candidates in 2027.
Also speaking, the Jigawa State Commissioner for Special Duties, Auwalu Sankara, said the Federal Government had approved more than ₦4 billion for beneficiaries in the state under an economic recovery intervention.
He said eligible youths received ₦70,000 each under the initiative, which he described as part of efforts to support citizens amid prevailing economic challenges.
Sankara urged residents to give Tinubu another term to consolidate his policies, while also calling for Namadi’s re-election.
He said a second term would enable the governor to build on projects and programmes implemented under his administration’s 12-point development agenda, particularly in infrastructure and other critical sectors.
Other speakers, including Engr. Adamu Dallas and Engr. Ibrahim Ahmed, also urged residents to support APC candidates in the 2027 elections, arguing that continuity in leadership would allow the party to consolidate its policies and development projects.
The Dutse rally concluded the movement’s three-part mobilisation campaign across Hadejia, Gumel and the state capital.
Although the organisers expressed confidence in their target of more than two million votes, the impact of the rallies on voter support remains uncertain as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
