The Arizona Cardinals traded wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. to the Houston Texans earlier this week, ending his disappointing tenure with the franchise.
The Cardinals selected Harrison with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, with the expectation that he would immediately produce as the team's No. 1 wide receiver option. But through the first few years of his NFL career, the former superstar prospect never lived up to the hype.
Harrison fell out of favor as a receiving weapon in the Cardinals offense, ceding targets to new No. 1 WR Michael Wilson.
When speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Wilson called Harrison's departure "crushing." He praised his former teammate's work ethic and resilience as he dealt criticism over the last few seasons.
"I have a good relationship with Marv. You guys, the media, don't know him like I know him," Wilson said. "For a guy like that, you just really hope for the person and root for the person. The type of character he is, the things he's been through the last 18 months, there's so much negativity about his name, which is weird since he's such an amazing guy, truly works extremely, extremely hard," said Wilson.
"There's no one in this building who would ever question his work ethic, his preparation, and how much he loves and cares about the game of football and this locker room."

The Cardinals will face off against the Rams in a Week 6 matchup on Sunday. Harrison will make his debut for the Texans in an international matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London.
