KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia has done its best to address the recurring transboundary haze issue, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
"We have done everything we possibly can," he said when asked to comment on calls for the government to take a firmer stance towards Indonesia over the haze.
Former health minister Khairy Jamaluddin had urged the government to adopt a tougher approach towards Indonesia in dealing with the recurring environmental crisis.
Khairy also called for Malaysia to enact a transboundary haze legislation to hold Malaysian plantation companies accountable if they were found responsible for forest fires and haze.
