Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders have reminded the YSR Congress leaders that they are no longer in power and warned them to “mend their ways”.
In an oblique reference to the Punganur incident, the party leaders heckled the YSRCP for still dreaming of being in power and hence unleashing violence on its counterparts.
Addressing a media conference here on Saturday (October 17, 2026), Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA) Chairman C. Divakar Reddy and MLAs Kalikiri Muralimohan (Puthalapattu) and Pulivarthi Nani (Chandragiri) flayed the opposition party for provoking the NDA Alliance cadres by deliberately resorting to violence.
“The YSRCP is yet to come to terms with reality. Even after the voters have confined them to eleven seats, they are still imagining to be in power and exhibiting their violent behaviour. “It is unfortunate that even an elected Member of Parliament is behaving irresponsibly,” Mr. Divakar Reddy said.
“Taking law and order into their hands is objectionable. They have perhaps forgotten that their anarchic rule has come to an end”, Mr. Nani remarked.
Mr. Muralimohan warned that any threat to law and public order would be dealt with seriously, adding that the government would not take such incidents lightly.
