Sri Lanka Police have announced traffic restrictions in connection with the Sri Lanka Skills Expo 2026 exhibition, which will be held at Green Path within the Cinnamon Gardens Police Division.
The restrictions will be in effect from 10.00 p.m. today (Oct. 21) until 10.00 p.m. on Oct. 25.
Accordingly, the Colombo-bound exit lane along Green Path, on the Viharamahadevi Park side, from the Library Roundabout to the Horton Roundabout will be completely closed.
The closure may disrupt normal traffic for vehicles travelling to major schools, including Ladies’ College, Thurstan College and Royal College, as well as vehicles leaving Colombo during weekday evening peak hours.
Police have advised motorists to use the following alternative routes to minimise traffic congestion:
- Vehicles can travel from the Library Roundabout along Sir Marcus Fernando Mawatha, past Glass House and Nanda Motors, towards the Horton Roundabout.
- Vehicles travelling along Dharmapala Mawatha towards the Red Cross Junction and intending to enter Ananda Coomaraswamy Mawatha will be diverted towards the Horton Roundabout via F.R. Senanayake Mawatha and C.W.W. Kannangara Mawatha, depending on prevailing traffic conditions.
- To manage congestion caused by additional vehicles using Sir Marcus Fernando Mawatha, traffic will be diverted along Independence Avenue, Horton Roundabout, and C.W.W. Kannangara Mawatha towards the De Soysa Roundabout.
