Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi arrived in Pakistan on a two-day visit on Tuesday, during which he would head his country’s delegation at the eighth Pakistan-Oman Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) session.
According to the Foreign Office (FO), he was received upon his arrival by the Economic Affairs Division secretary and the foreign ministry’s additional secretary (Middle East).
He would also hold a bilateral meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar during his stay in Pakistan, the FO statement said.
In an earlier statement, the FO had said the JMC session would “serve as an important platform to review the entire spectrum of Pakistan-Oman bilateral relations and to further strengthen cooperation in diverse fields”.
The visit “reflects the longstanding fraternal relations between Pakistan and Oman and is expected to further deepen mutually beneficial cooperation across multiple sectors”, it had added.
According to Radio Pakistan, the session will focus on “deepening cooperation in trade, investment, industry, agriculture, finance, oil and gas, labour, consular affairs, security, defence, climate change, civil aviation, education, media, and culture”.
