The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to promptly address the omission of some of its candidates’ names from the commission’s recently published list.
The party’s leader, Henry Seriake Dickson, made the call in a post on his X account, assuring affected candidates and supporters that the party had taken steps to resolve the issue.
“Our candidates and supporters are assured that the party has been working diligently and has taken adequate steps to address the cases of those whose names were not published by INEC a few days ago,” Dickson said.
He maintained that all affected candidates registered with the party within the statutory 21-day period required by law, urging INEC to correct what he described as an apparent omission.
“From the Presidential election to the State Houses of Assembly, the NDC has fielded qualified candidates who emerged through a rigorous and painstaking screening process,” he stated.

Dickson expressed confidence that the electoral commission would resolve the matter without delay.
Meanwhile, he urged party members, candidates and supporters to sustain their political activities while efforts to address the issue continue.
“In the meantime, consultations, town hall meetings, mobilisation, and campaigns should continue unabated in all states and constituencies,” he said.
The former Bayelsa State governor reaffirmed the party’s determination to pursue the matter, declaring: “We will continue to fight without giving up until we are victorious.”
