The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ghana Digital Centre to enrol 2,000 young people in information technology-related programmes and capacity-building initiatives.
Chief Executive Officer Malik Basintale announced this at the Government Accountability Series at Jubilee House today, Wednesday, October 21, 2026, describing the partnership as part of efforts to expand employment opportunities in the digital economy.
He said the initiative was intended to diversify the pathways available to young Ghanaians by equipping them with skills relevant to the evolving digital environment.
“I am happy to report that the YEA has signed an MoU with the Ghana Digital Centre to enrol 2000 beneficiaries into various IT-related programmes and capacity-building initiatives,” Mr Basintale said.
He added that the agreement represented an important step towards aligning the Agency’s employment interventions with changes in technology and the digital ecosystem.
“This development represents a significant milestone in our quest to ensure that employment opportunities take cognisance of the growing digital revolution and the sweeping reform within the digital ecosystem,” he said.
The Agency says the partnership with the Ghana Digital Centre is expected to create additional opportunities for young people to build skills and improve their prospects in the technology sector.
