Barcelona star Lamine Yamal was responsible for a round of individual statistics not seen in La Liga since the days of Lionel Messi on Saturday evening. This came courtesy of the 19-year-old’s spectacular showing in the Blaugrana’s meeting with Real Betis.
Hansi Flick’s Barca are fresh off keeping alive and well their flawless opening to the new campaign, courtesy of a 5-2 triumph at La Cartuja.
The aforementioned Lamine featured from the off in Seville, and shone bright once again from his berth on the right flank. The Spanish international opened the scoring in spectacular fashion, and also laid on a fine assist.
Lamine’s overall display was so much more than just his efforts in front of goal, though, with the young winger having terrorised the hosts’ backline courtesy of wonderful touch, dribbling and vision throughout the 90 minutes.
So much so that, as alluded to above, Lamine racked up a round of numbers most recently managed in Spanish football by Barcelona’s greatest ever player, Lionel Messi.
