DAEJEON — Enjoy the Daejeon bread festival, then take in the night views from Expo Bridge.
The city of Daejeon said on the 15th that it will run the "2026 Delight Expo Bridge" program with the Daejeon Tourism Organization on Expo Bridge from the 16th through the 18th.
The program is a Daejeon-only festival offering designed to let visitors to the "2026 Daejeon Bread Festival" enjoy the night scenery along Expo Bridge and the Gapcheon stream after stopping by the festival grounds. It aims to encourage visitors to stay longer in the city.
Expo Bridge will host rest areas with night views, hands-on activity booths and food-and-drink booths. Activities include making acrylic mood lamps, MBTI keycap key rings and glow-in-the-dark bead bracelets, as well as decorating glow-in-the-dark postcards, with participation free or paid depending on the program. Busking performances by local artists are also planned, allowing visitors to combine food, performances and hands-on activities.
The event runs from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the 16th and from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the 17th and 18th.
Visitors can also take in a range of nighttime tourism attractions near the venue. Oversized inflatable sculptures of Kkumdori and Kkumsuni, the city's mascot characters, previously displayed at Gapcheon Ecological Lake Park, have been moved to the lawn plaza at Hanbat Arboretum, adding to the nighttime attractions.
Special nighttime moon boat operations run along the Gapcheon stream through the 18th, and the "D-Universe," a double-decker bus dedicated to night tours that loops between Daejeon Station's East Plaza, Hanbat Arboretum and the Hanbit Tower Water Light Plaza, offers convenient access to the area around the venue.
Daejeon Mayor Huh Tae-jung said, "We will prepare a variety of programs so that visitors who come for the bread festival can enjoy Daejeon even more."
