Nairobi - Kenya Power has notified customers of planned electricity interruptions scheduled for Wednesday, October 21, 2026, affecting selected areas across thirteen counties.

The utility issued the notice on Tuesday evening, citing Rule 27 of the Electric Power Rules as the legal basis for the interruptions.
Reason for the Power Interruptions
Kenya Power explained that periodic supply interruptions are necessary to carry out maintenance and upgrades on power lines, connect new customers to the grid, and replace infrastructure during road construction activities.
The interruptions are set to begin at 9.00am and run through to 5.00pm, meaning affected customers across the thirteen counties could be without electricity for up to eight hours.
Kenya Power published a full list of the specific areas within each of the thirteen counties that will be affected by the outages, giving residents and businesses advance notice to make alternative arrangements for the day.
