Montblanc has appointed entrepreneur, social activist and podcaster, and also the granddaughter of actor Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan and daughter of Abhishek and Aishwarya Bachchan Navya Naveli Nanda as its Friend of the Brand in India, bringing together the luxury Maison’s longstanding association with writing and self-expression with a new generation of Indian voices.
Nanda has established her own presence across entrepreneurship, social impact and culture. A key part of her work is Project Naveli, the non-profit initiative she founded to address gender inequality by expanding opportunities for women in education, healthcare and legal awareness.
She has also become a voice in conversations around contemporary Indian womanhood, ambition and changing generational perspectives. Through her podcast, What The Hell Navya, and her wider platforms, she encourages open dialogue on subjects that are often left unspoken, bringing different viewpoints into the public conversation.
These interests align with Montblanc’s heritage in writing and its emphasis on the power of ideas to shape individual narratives. Founded in 1906, the Maison has built its identity around writing instruments and the belief that thoughts and stories can leave a lasting mark. Over the years, it has extended this philosophy across watches, leather goods, accessories and new technologies, while continuing to emphasise craftsmanship and design.
For Nanda, the association reflects a shared interest in individuality and the importance of communicating ideas. “I’m very happy to be joining the Montblanc family. I’ve always believed in the power of putting your own thoughts, ideas and stories out into the world, so the Maison’s focus on self-expression really resonates with me. Montblanc has such a strong legacy, and I’m excited to be part of its journey as it continues to connect with a new generation. I’m looking forward to everything we will create together and I’m excited to see where this association takes us,” she said.
Neeraj Walia, Managing Director and CEO of Montblanc India, said Nanda’s entrepreneurial outlook and individuality made her a natural fit for the Maison. “Montblanc has always celebrated those who choose to write their own story. Navya embodies the spirit of a new generation that is confident in shaping its own narrative. Her creativity, individuality and entrepreneurial spirit resonate beautifully with Montblanc, and we are delighted to welcome her as our Friend of the Brand in India,” he said.
The appointment marks the start of a new relationship between Nanda and Montblanc, connecting the brand’s enduring culture of writing with a contemporary Indian perspective shaped by entrepreneurship, social engagement and cultural dialogue.
