Much has been written in recent years about the death of terrestrial television. Gone are those water cooler moments spent bonding with so-and-so from HR over last night’s episode of whatever the whole nation was watching at the same time. Thankfully, these days we have The Traitors to remind us of how it felt to exist in a monoculture. Host Claudia Winkleman, with her signature racoon eyeliner and noze-grazing fringe, is the perma-tanned glue holding the show together.
As season two of The Celebrity Traitors – featuring Jerry Hall, Maya Jama and (briefly) Richard E Grant – hits its stride, it’s fair to say the obsession with the mindgames persists (who can resist a bit of backstabbing as the clocks go back?). But Winkleman’s eclectic wardrobe remains the true star of the show. Styled by Sinead McKeefry, the tartan skirts and constant rotation of cashmere land her somewhere in between Laura Palmer in Twin Peaks and Princess Anne – peppered with LFW-approved Chopova Lowena and Alexander McQueen moments.
Below, we take a look at 10 of her best on-screen style moments to date.
10. The uber snood
Texture and volume are both central to Claudia’s screen uniform. This oversized snood and houndstooth coat combo nails the dark and brooding brief – ideal for hiding behind when the tension at the round table becomes too much.
9. Back to school
A new season calls for a fresh Winkleman take on uniform dressing, and what better way to complete a crisp monochrome look than with some Simone Rocha pearls?
8. The indie sleaze military jacket
A masterclass in high-low styling, turns out Zara boots and Bottega trousers are a match made in Highlands heaven.
7. Baroque noir
Ostensibly simple separates are given a touch of drama via The Vampire’s Wife ruffles and stompy Bottega boots.
6. Country classics
No rural wardrobe is complete without a Barbour jacket, bonus points if it’s paired with those trophy boots and some Brora cashmere.
5. Keeping it celtic
Here, Claudia elevates high street favourites with high fashion – an Alexander McQueen skirt in a fitting tartan fabric.
4. Ruffled feathers
This is when we really started looking camp in the eye. A little bit Regency cosplay, a little bit Countryfile, these ruffled sleeves add some theatricality to proceedings.
3. Deconstructed tartan
More tartan, this time a hybrid trouser-skirt situation courtesy of Vivienne Westwood.
2. Black swan
Claudia looks all set for a Highland fling in this Shushu/Tong puffball party dress.
1. Year of the skirt
It’s fair to say that 2026 has been the Year of the Skirt, both on and off the runway – and Claudia Winkleman, seen here in a pleated number from fashion girl fave Chopova Lowena, is very much on board.
