Father Cooper is officially a mother! Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper and her husband, Matt Kaplan, announced the birth of their first baby together on Tuesday, October 20, with a sweet Instagram post.
Alex shared a tight shot of her baby boy with his face intentionally cropped out. In the pic, he wore a cozy gray co-ord set. (Seriously, where can I snag one in an adult size? Asking for myself.)
Before she and Matt tied the knot in 2024, Alex fully gushed about her now-husband during her November 2023 Cosmopolitan cover story.
“Matt is so confident and not cocky. He knows who he is. He knows what he
stands for. He’s the most giving person,” she said at the time. “He’s also the most romantic man I’ve ever met in my life. I’ll be leaving for work and there will be three notes: One as I go down the stairs being like, ‘I love you. Have the best day,’ and then I get into the kitchen and it’s another note. Then he leaves one on my windshield. I’m like, what did I do to deserve this man?”
As for their growing family, the podcaster first announced her pregnancy back in May with another social post featuring gorgeous photos of her and Matt as she grazed her exposed baby bump.
A few months later, in July, Alex revealed that she had been diagnosed with gestational diabetes during her pregnancy.
“I’m not gonna cry on the internet because I’ve never cried on the internet, but when I tell you, I almost did,” she said in another Instagram post at the time. “I was told anyone can get this no matter what your prior weight, diet, fitness level—literally anyone is susceptible to getting it.”
She added, “This diagnosis was so upsetting, I think, because during pregnancy there’s already so much emotionally that you’re going through.”
In the end, she admitted that she would do “whatever it takes” to make sure her baby’s health was on track amid her diagnosis.
“Obviously, my first instinct was just like, ‘Oh my God, I want my child to be okay, and I want my baby to be healthy. I’ll do whatever it takes,’” she shared.
Though the couple runs the Unwell Network, we’re hoping they and their bundle of joy are doing well!
