Few characters in the Final Fantasy series are as recognizable and universally adored as Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII. So, it makes sense that Final Fantasy: Resonance would include the snarky mercenary in its cast of Visions, which function as equippable characters that aid your party.
If you're looking to get your hands on Cloud as soon as possible, you'll be happy to hear that this popular spiky-haired fellow can be added to your party within the first few hours of the game. Here's how to get Cloud in Final Fantasy: Resonance.
How to get Cloud Strife in Final Fantasy: Resonance
As with all Visions in Final Fantasy: Resonance, obtaining Cloud requires you to visit his respective sanctum in the overworld. Luckily, for fans of this beloved hero, the Sanctum of Cloud becomes available quite early in the adventure during Chapter 1. However, it requires a bit of a detour, which means you could potentially miss it if you're not thoroughly exploring.
After the initial events at the Earth Shrine play out, you'll soon find yourself journeying to the desert in the west. It's in this area of the overworld that you'll find the Sanctum of Cloud, but you'll want to wrap up your brief visit to the Village of Kol first. You won't be able to reach the sanctum from this side of the desert.
Instead, wait until you've made your way all the way to the west of this portion of the continent to reach Grandport Harbor. You'll be spending quite a bit of time there for the main story, but for now, we'll just use it as a starting point for our journey to the Sanctum of Cloud.

From Grandport Harbor, head north, then take the bridge slightly to the east. Immediately after crossing over the sand waterfall on the other side, head all the way north. Pass the cave here and wrap around south to spot the Sanctum of Cloud.

Refer to the map above for the exact location of the Sanctum of Cloud.

Inside Cloud's Sanctum, simply approach and interact with the crystal at the end of the path. You'll be given a fairly lengthy explanation of Cloud as a character, and you'll be asked to answer three questions pertaining to his story. How you answer these questions has no effect on anything, so just choose the ones that feel right to you.

When you've answered all three questions, you'll receive Cloud as a Vision, allowing you to equip and use him in battle.
Cloud is a Breaker, meaning the character you equip him to will start learning additional abilities that aid in staggering enemies and dealing massive damage to them. Pairing him with Lasswell is the best bet early on, as he is also a Breaker, and he can quickly become a staggering powerhouse once he's got Cloud working alongside him.

Also, Cloud has an incredibly powerful Resonance attack called Ascension that is exceptional against single targets--especially those weak to Lightning. You'll want to keep this in mind when facing off against Chapter 1's most formidable boss, Siren.
Final Fantasy: Resonance is available now on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
