Earlier this month, police received a report of a 2022 sexual assault of a child at Shining Stars day home in the area of 50 Street and 101 Avenue, said police in a news release.
Police said the private day home was unlicensed and not affiliated with any other childcare facilities that have the same name in Edmonton. It opened in 2011, and is no longer operational.
Investigators believe this isn’t an isolated incident, and are encouraging other potential victims to come forward.
