Nollywood faith-based film Agbara Nla: The Return has grossed more than N307.2 million at the box office, making it the fourth-highest-grossing Nollywood film of 2026.
The film’s distributor, Nile Entertainment, via its social media pages, announced the milestone, stating, “THANK YOU, NIGERIA! Agbára Ńlá: The Return has grossed N307.2M+, the highest-grossing Nollywood title ever for an October release and the 4th highest of 2026.”
The achievement follows a strong opening for the faith-based film, which shattered the single-day preview record after earning about N71 million before its official release.
Nigerian Box Office (@NGAboxoffice), a box-office analysis platform, reported that the film made N70 million from 12,134 admissions during its preview period from September 25 to October 1.
This was the highest single-day preview gross ever recorded in West Africa, making Agbara Nla the top film during that time.
Agbara Nla: The Return is a modern reimagining of the classic Agbara Nla, which was originally released in 1993.
Christian filmmaker Mike Bamiloye later released the original film in English as The Ultimate Power in 1994.
The new production returns to Muwonleru, a village controlled by the powerful herbalist Isawuru.
Two believers, Olaboye and Olatomi, leave their city lives to bring the Christian message to the community, sparking a conflict between their faith and Isawuru’s spiritual power.
Mike Bamiloye reprises his role as Isawuru, while Damilola Mike-Bamiloye and Joshua Bamiloye directed the new production.
The cast also includes Aanu Kolade Abiodun, Remilekun Mosiko, Philip Olubakin, Gloria Mike-Bamiloye and David Kola Okeowo
