Lithuania will switch to winter time this weekend, with clocks set back one hour overnight from Saturday to Sunday.
The change will take effect early Sunday and remain in place until the end of March. Under winter time, daylight begins earlier in the morning but also ends earlier in the evening.
Seasonal clock changes were introduced to make better use of daylight hours. However, critics argue that switching between summer and winter time can have adverse effects on health.
Lithuania, like other European Union member states, changes its clocks twice a year under an EU directive.
The European Commission and the European Parliament support ending the seasonal time change, but the proposal has yet to win sufficient support among EU member states to be implemented.
