Teen wakes up in coffin at her own funeral in Guatemala

A 15-year-old girl in Guatemala shocked mourners when she reportedly woke up inside her coffin during her own funeral, hours after her family believed she had died. According to the New York Post, Yuleidy Ixcotoyac collapsed while being driven to a medical centre by her father, Abraham Ixcotoyac, an evangelical pastor. He reportedly believed she had died after finding no signs of breathing or a pulse, but no doctor confirmed her death and no death certificate was issued. A funeral was arranged about eight hours after she collapsed. During the wake, her mother, Lesvia Ríos, noticed movement inside the coffin and alerted relatives. The teenager, dressed in a pink T-shirt, reportedly sat up and began speaking before family members helped her out of the coffin and gave her water. Ixcotoyac is now conscious and recovering at home. Guatemalan health authorities have not publicly commented on the incident.
