The Prime Minister likes to hold “situation room” briefings with his former colleagues, the mayors.
Andy Burnham is set to hold a virtual meeting with mayors today to discuss their economic priorities ahead of the Budget.
This is the second of three “situation room” briefings the Prime Minister will hold with mayors before the end of the year, and follow the National Economic Council he launched at No10 North in his first weeks in post.
It is understood that Mr Burnham will be at No10 North and the mayors will dial in.
In the one previous meeting they were asked to inform the Prime Minister of their three economic priorities going forward.
With less than a week before the Budget, it is expected to continue on economic priorities.
