DETROIT — The Celtics are at just about full strength going into their season opener against the Pistons at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Little Caesars Arena. Only two-way guard Devin Carter is listed as out on the injury report with an illness.
Carter has dealt with mononucleosis over the past few weeks. That illness also kept him out of Boston’s past three preseason games. Despite being unavailable, Carter showed enough in training camp to earn a two-way contract with the Celtics. It’s unclear when Carter will return, but it could be a few more weeks.
Otherwise, the Celtics are at full strength Tuesday facing the Pistons, who earned the No. 1 seed in the East last season. It’s a marquee matchup for the NBA regular-season opener between the top-2 teams in the conference last season.

Boston didn’t have any notable injuries during training camp, so the clean sheet of health is no surprise. Ron Harper Jr. missed a bit of time due to a shoulder issue, but he returned before camp was over. Now, all that’s left is for the Celtics to start their schedule.
