It's a home game, but at a much larger venue for Texas Southern this week.
The Tigers (1-5, 0-3 SWAC) host Southern (3-4, 1-2) on Saturday afternoon at Reliant Stadium looking to end a five-game losing streak.
TSU's past two conference losses have been gut punches. Last week, the Tigers gave up 24 fourth-quarter points and were unable to hold a 10-point lead with roughly five minutes left in a loss to Mississippi Valley State. Two weeks earlier, TSU overcame a 22-point deficit in the second half only to lose in overtime at Alcorn State.
Southern, coached by Pro Football Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk, was off last week after winning at Prairie View A&M. The Jaguars lead the all-time series 14-4, but TSU has won two of the past three meetings.
