Galatasaray assistant coach Ismael Garcia believes Victor Osimhen has the qualities to trouble Barcelona’s defence when the Turkish side face the Spanish giants in Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League clash.
The Nigerian forward is expected to lead Galatasaray’s attack after recovering from an injury that kept him out of three consecutive matches.
His return to action over the weekend has provided a timely boost for the Turkish club ahead of the crucial European encounter against Hansi Flick’s men.
Garcia confirmed that Osimhen is fit and available for selection, describing the former Napoli striker as a key player for the team.
“Yes, yes. I’m not going to tell you clichés or lies: he’s ready to play and he’s a completely differential player for us. Obviously, he’s there to play,” Garcia told Diario Sport.
The Galatasaray assistant coach also highlighted Barcelona’s aggressive defensive approach as a potential advantage for Osimhen, whose pace, movement and ability to run behind defenders could prove decisive.
“Beyond the fact that he is an extraordinary striker, we hope that he can do a lot of damage to Barcelona with the way he plays,” Garcia added.
Tuesday’s Fixtures:
