A fire which broke out at a scrapyard in Glasgow’s Southside is not being treated as deliberate, say police.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) dispatched six appliances and a height vehicle to the scene on South Street at around 11.30pm on Friday, October 9.
Crews have spent three days bringing the fire under control, finally extinguishing it as of Monday morning.
Police Scotland said the fire is not being treated as wilful and there have been no reported injuries.
A cordon that was in place throughout the weekend on South Street between Scotstoun Street and Edzell Street has been removed, and the road has reopened.
Candice McColgan, who lives nearby, said it sounded like “bombs were going off” in Partick at around 11.30pm on Friday.
She capture footage of the fire at its peak.
“This was a massive scene, and we were there first with the first fire engine trying to help civilians and traffic stay away”, she told STV News.
“It was a walk to the corner for us, it was very close. The bangs were incredibly loud, it sounded like bombs were going off when we first arrived.
