British airline Jet2 has cancelled all flights and package holidays to La Palma, just six months after launching services to the Spanish island. The airline’s final Manchester-to-La Palma flight is scheduled for October 30, 2026. The decision ends a route that was originally planned to operate throughout the year.

Jet2 also scrapped plans to launch a London Stansted-to-La Palma service later this month. The route was cancelled before its first flight took off. The decision reverses the airline’s earlier expansion plans, announced last June, when it introduced La Palma as its fifth Canary Islands destination.
The Manchester route began on April 3, with flights operating twice a week on Mondays and Fridays. Jet2 had expected the new service to expand travel options for British holidaymakers. However, the airline has now withdrawn both planned and existing services following a review of its destinations.
Jet2 said it regularly reviews its routes based on customer demand. The company described the cancellation as a difficult decision and also cited unavoidable operational reasons in communications with customers. However, it did not provide a detailed breakdown of the factors behind its decision.

Passengers who have already booked flights or package holidays will be offered the option to change their holiday or receive a full refund, according to Jet2. The cancellation is also a setback for La Palma’s tourism sector, which had hoped the new routes would attract more visitors from Britain. The airline’s decision highlights how demand and operational considerations can affect route planning.
