A Bus Rapid Transit, BRT, vehicle has reportedly been set ablaze by an angry mob after it allegedly struck and killed a commercial motorcyclist at Ogolonto Bus Stop in Ikorodu, Lagos State.
The incident reportedly triggered outrage among residents, prompting police officers and officials of the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps to intervene and rescue the bus driver from the crowd.
An X user, #kinglammyjames, who shared details of the incident on the platform, wrote, “Live at OGOLONTO.
“A bike man was crushed to death by the BRT Bus and in turn, the STREET BOYS burned down the BRT Bus.”
The circumstances surrounding the incident remained unclear at the time of filing this report, including the identity of the deceased motorcyclist and the events that led to the fatal collision.
It was also not immediately known whether anyone had been arrested in connection with the burning of the BRT vehicle.
