At the pool at Hotel Yellowstone in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, floor-to-ceiling windows open to views of swaying grasses and farmland running out to the base of the Teton Range. I stepped into the pool and waded to the edge with a glass of complimentary Chandon in hand. All my stress evaporated as I sipped, soaked, and lost track of time.
The pool isn’t the only place at Hotel Yellowstone with that view. The property sits on top of the East Gros Ventre Butte, overlooking the Snake River Valley and the Tetons. From the restaurant to the rooms, the entire hotel faces the range. It opened in August 2024 as Jackson Hole’s first adults-only hotel, with 36 suites spread across four acres.
The experience begins before you step into your room. There’s no dedicated front desk. You walk into a lobby that feels more like the living room of a multigenerational Jackson Hole ranch, and a personal concierge checks you in right there, handing over a welcome cocktail as they outline the details of your stay. For the first time on site, you catch a glimpse of what’s arguably the most dramatic range in the Lower 48.
Hotel Yellowstone suites: One layout, four views

I toured the property and ended at my room, where my bags were already waiting in a closet. The Western-style room had plush rugs, a Calacatta marble bathroom with a freestanding tub, and a private patio that framed the room’s room’s real focal point, the Tetons.
Hotel Yellowstone has four room types: Grand Teton Suites, Grand Reflection Suites, Vista Suites, and Reflection Suites. They all have the same layout but different views. Grand Teton and Grand Reflection Suites face Grand Teton, the range’s highest peak; Vista Suites look west across the range; and Reflection Suites sit along a pond. When I walked onto the patio of my Grand Reflection Suite, I heard the pond below while admiring the range straight ahead. Nightly rates range from $799 to $1,899 depending on your room type and travel dates.
Spa at Hotel Yellowstone: A salt room, red-light sauna, massages, and more

Exclusivity isn’t just a feeling at Hotel Yellowstone. It’s a policy. The restaurant, spa, and grounds are reserved for overnight guests.
Outside of the pool area, you can unwind in a hot tub or indulge in the holistic benefits of contrast therapy by alternating between the dry sauna and cold plunge. The on-site spa offers everything from therapeutic massages to Forest Therapy Treatments, alongside red-light therapy sauna and a Himalayan Salt Treatment Room. The hotel also has a small but well-appointed gym.
Olivia’s at Hotel Yellowstone: Book dinner for sunset
Photo: Katie Botwin
Breakfast is covered by the resort fee, so every morning I went to Olivia’s for a minty passion fruit parfait or cinnamon French toast while watching the sun illuminate the peaks. For dinner, I timed my reservation for sunset so I could watch the last light of the day sweep across the valley.
Executive Chef Brandon Esposito’s menu changes regularly. During my visit, the fried goat cheese starter came with smoked chili caramel so good I almost ordered a second round. The hamachi crudo was tangy with yuzu, and the New England striped bass came out with a crispy skin. On my second night, I’d planned to eat in Jackson, but I went back to Olivia’s instead.
The restaurant also serves lunch and has a lounge area where guests can admire the daytime views or go for evening cocktails after a long day of adventuring or relaxing.
Day trips from Hotel Yellowstone: Two national parks and beyond

Hotel Yellowstone’s location makes it easy to explore the area. The Moose Entrance to Grand Teton National Park is about 15 miles from the hotel, and Yellowstone National Park’s South Entrance is about 60 miles north, under a two-hour drive. Note that the South Entrance is only open to cars part of the year, roughly mid-May to late October or or early November, so plan Yellowstone days for summer and early fall.
Most of Hotel Yellowstone’s summer experiences head into the parks, and they’re led by local guides. From wildlife safaris to e-bike tours with a picnic, the hotel will book guided excursions for you. Options have included full-day Yellowstone tours to Old Faithful, the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, and Hayden Valley; wildlife stops in Grand Teton at Schwabacher Landing, Mormon Row, and Oxbow Bend; sunrise outings in the park; and paddleboarding on its lakes.
Wherever you go, keep your distance. Moose and mule deer wander the hotel grounds, and in both parks you’re required to stay 100 yards from bears and wolves and 25 yards from everything else, whether you’re on foot or in a car.
Beyond the parks, the hotel can also arrange fly fishing, float trips, hiking, whitewater rafting, and stargazing. In winter, skiing is the area’s big draw: Snow King Mountain is about five miles away, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is 13 miles, and Grand Targhee is 46. Skis and boards aren’t allowed in the suites, so ask the guest experience team about storage when you book.
Getting to Hotel Yellowstone and around Jackson Hole

I’d recommend flying into Jackson Hole Airport (JAC), which is about a 20-minute drive from Hotel Yellowstone, and renting a car. It’s the only commercial airport in the country inside a national park, so you land with the Tetons in view. The hotel can arrange private transfers, but having your own car gives you more freedom to explore off-property and head into Jackson, which is about five miles from the hotel.
If you’re looking for a classic out-West road trip or a larger airport, Idaho Falls Regional Airport (IDA) is about two hours away, and Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) is just under five hours away. Just be sure to check the driving conditions from Idaho Falls if you’re visiting in winter. The most direct route crosses Teton Pass, which closes for storms and avalanche control.
