A man has handed himself into police after a young Indigenous woman was found dead inside a unit complex in Melbourne’s inner north.
Homicide squad detectives are currently investigating the death of Jayda Allen Bonner, 21, who was found dead inside an apartment about 1.45am on Saturday.

Police believe the man, 31, who has since been arrested, was known to Ms Bonner.
A 60-year-old man was initially arrested shortly after the incident, but was released pending further inquiries.
No charges have been laid and the investigation remains ongoing.
A GoFundMe launched by prominent Melbourne-based Indigenous advocate Jarvis Atkinson on behalf of Ms Bonner’s aunty Louisa features words from the family.

“Jayda was a caring, loving young woman with a heart of gold and so much life ahead of her,” the post reads.
“She was deeply loved by her family and friends, and her loss has left an unimaginable void in the lives of those who knew her.
“Forever 21, forever our girl. Forever shining on Country.”
