Meghan Markle has announced a partnership with Pakistani education activist Malala Yousafzai to support girls’ education, with her lifestyle brand, As Ever, pledging to contribute its net proceeds from selected products to Malala Fund.
The Duchess of Sussex shared photographs of herself with Yousafzai on Instagram on Sunday, October 11, following a reported meeting at London’s Claridge’s hotel.
The announcement coincided with the International Day of the Girl and outlined a collaboration involving As Ever and Archewell Philanthropies to support the nonprofit organisation’s work.
“This International Day of the Girl, in partnership with Archewell Philanthropies, 100 percent of net proceeds from As Ever jams and teas will support Malala Fund and its vital work to ensure that every girl has access to free, safe, quality education,” Meghan wrote.
The post also featured a joint message from the two women highlighting the importance of investing in girls’ futures.
“When we support the girls of today, we empower the women of tomorrow. Access to education is the key to unlocking this,” the message read.
Meghan concluded her caption with a playful reference to their meeting, writing, “Tea for Two has never felt so good.”
The announcement followed reports that Meghan and Yousafzai met at Claridge’s in London last week. Photographs of the pair together outside the hotel were also shared on social media.
Their meeting renewed attention on their shared advocacy for girls’ education, an issue both have highlighted through their respective public and philanthropic work.
Yousafzai, who became the youngest Nobel Peace Prize laureate in 2014, has spent years campaigning for every girl’s right to education. Malala Fund works to advance girls’ access to education through advocacy and support for local organisations.
Meghan has also used her public platform and philanthropic initiatives to promote issues including women’s empowerment and equal opportunities.
The two women previously connected in 2020 during a virtual discussion hosted by Malala Fund to mark the International Day of the Girl. Their conversation focused on barriers to girls’ education and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on students around the world.
Following the discussion, Yousafzai highlighted their shared belief in the importance of educating girls.
“Meghan and I are on the same page: we both believe that when girls have access to education, everyone wins,” she wrote on X at the time.
She also thanked Meghan and Prince Harry for participating in the conversation about the future of education and the world.
The latest partnership builds on that shared focus, linking As Ever’s product sales with support for Malala Fund’s educational mission.
The London meeting also drew attention because of reports about Meghan and Prince Harry’s recent visits to the United Kingdom.
According to the supplied report, the Duchess’s appearance marked her first public sighting in London since she and Harry, along with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, reportedly returned to the UK at the end of August.
The report also cited a source who said the couple hoped to strengthen Harry’s relationship with his father, King Charles III, who is undergoing cancer treatment and help their children build relationships with their British relatives.
However, details about the family’s reported relocation and the reasons behind their UK visits have not been independently established in the supplied material.
