Most of the action was at Scandinavium, where the home team took control. Isac Heens scored to make it 1-0 after 3:47, setting the tone. Erik Thorell, Henrik Tömmernes, Samuel Fagemo, Max Lindholm and Max Westergård were the other scorers for Frölunda, who have won nine of their first eleven games of the season and are second behind Färjestad.
In the third period, things got really heated, and for a while a total of eleven players were in the penalty boxes - six for Frölunda and five for Djurgården.
Djurgården are still struggling and have only 12 points, leaving them ahead of only the bottom two, Linköping and HV71. The latter two met in an early-season bottom-of-the-table clash that was 2-2 after regular time, with extra time being played.
