KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has ordered civil servants to stop using navigation application Waze over concerns that sensitive government information and personal data could be exploited by Israel.
"Sensitive government information and the personal data of Malaysians must be protected from exploitation by the Israeli regime, which could compromise national security and sovereignty," the Prime Minister's Office said in a statement today.
Anwar also urged Malaysians to stop using Waze and switch to locally developed alternatives such as TuJu, citing assurances over data security and personal information protection.
