Vivo has announced the launch date for the Y600 5G smartphone in China. This new model will join the Vivo Y600 Pro and Y600i. The company is focusing on the phone’s large battery as its main selling point.
The Vivo Y600 comes with a 10,000mAh Blue Ocean battery. Vivo says the phone ran a nonstop livestream for 32 hours and 37 minutes, earning it a Guinness World Records title for the longest livestream test of an electronic product.
Vivo has shown the phone in white and blue, with a flat frame and two rear cameras. Its 50MP main camera uses an aspherical lens.
The Y600 is also connected to the Indian Vivo S2 FE and the Malaysian Vivo V80 Lite 5G. All three share the device code V2626.
Guinness World Records lists the S2 FE and V80 Lite 5G as regional names for the phone used in the record-setting test. However, Vivo has not explained how the Chinese Y600’s hardware compares to the versions sold elsewhere.
For comparison, the Indian Vivo S2 FE has a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a MediaTek Dimensity 7300e processor. It also features a 50MP main camera, a 32MP front camera, a 10,000mAh battery, and 44W wired charging. These details help, but Vivo has not yet confirmed the full specs of the Chinese Y600.
The Vivo Y600 Pro is another model to compare. It has a 10,200mAh battery, a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and 90W charging. The Y600’s battery is a bit smaller, and its charging speed is still unknown.
Vivo will start pre-orders for the Y600 in China on October 26, with sales beginning on October 30. The company has not shared details about the price, memory options, or whether it will be available outside China.
